• Public Treasury Bears .L.E. 2.8 b in Annual Pension Increase.

The Ministry of Finance is studying the readjustment of the 2008 special bonus for pensioners and their beneficiaries from 20% up to 30%, as well as cancelling the L.E 100 scheduled ceiling, so as to ensure equality between this bracket of the public and other state employees, in the light of an earlier ruling by the Supreme Constitutional Court, said dr. Samir Radwan, the Minister of Finance.

This will be the favor of pensioners and their beneficiaries, and will improve due insurance levels. To achieve this, the Ministry is currently preparing a decree law to be presented to the Cabinet and the Armed Forces Supreme Council for approval. However, raising the necessary funds, L.E. 2.8 b, will be borne by the State General Budget whose draft is now under preparation, the Minister added.
