Privacy Policy
Version 2.0 · Effective date 22 September 2026
Introduction
Ministry of Finance — Arab Republic of Egypt respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data when you use the electronic services portal. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and your rights.
By using the portal or creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. We may update it from time to time; material changes will be announced on the portal.
Data we collect
We may collect the following when you register or use services:
- Identity data: full name, email address.
- Account data: password (stored encrypted), verification status, privacy acceptance timestamp.
- Optional profile data: phone number, profile photo — if you provide them.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, security logs (e.g. login attempts) to protect your account and prevent abuse.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for data that is unnecessary for the service, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing.
How we use your data
- Create your account and verify your email via one-time passcode (OTP).
- Enable sign-in and access to available e-services.
- Contact you about account security or password recovery.
- Improve service quality, detect fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Legal basis and retention
We process your data based on your consent at registration, performance of the service you request, and legitimate interest in securing the portal. We retain data while your account is active or as required by law, then delete or anonymise it per approved retention rules.
Sharing data
We may share limited data with:
- Infrastructure providers: hosting, email, and bot-protection services — under confidentiality agreements.
- Public authorities: when required by law or court order.
We never share your password or OTP codes with third parties.
Security
We apply technical and organisational controls, including:
- Password hashing — never stored in plain text.
- Single-use OTP codes with short expiry.
- Rate limiting and temporary lockout after failed attempts.
- Turnstile verification on registration and login forms.
Your rights
Subject to applicable Egyptian law, you may:
- Access and update your data from your profile page.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Withdraw consent where the law allows — noting some services may no longer be available.
- Lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.
