The Ministry of Finance has signed a cooperation protocol with the Embassy of the Netherlands for a project to encourage equal opportunities for women in the State budget by training women at the Ministry of Finance in auditing and evaluating state budget from a gender’s point of view.  The UN development fund for women aims at lending technical support for women in the planning and executive stages.  Engineer Ayat Abdel Mooty who heads the opportunities unit at the Minister of Finance has announced that her department hopes to review the strategy on which a budget is based in order to redistribute benefits and achieve equal opportunities for women in terms of appointments, promotions and training. Engineer Ayat explained that the project hopes to enhance efficiency among employees, focusing on health, education water and labor force thereby impacting respective ministries.  The project will move from that point to implementing equal opportunities in relation to human resources. The idea, according to Mrs. Ayat is to target policy makers and accordingly reiterate equal opportunities in the layout of the budget. (source :Al-ahram)
