  Minister of Finance Dr. Ghali accompanied by the  State Minister for legal affairs Dr.  Shehab inaugurate a workshop at the Mariott Hotel on Thursday, May 18th on drafting economic legislation in Egypt and future expectations.  Legal and economic experts including the economic group of ministers will be attending the forum.  The event is organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Canadian Center for developmental research.   An Egyptian study prepared by Khaled Hamdy, an expert in economic legislation  is being  presented in addition to another study prepared by the Canadian Parliamentary Center.  Mr. Essam el Naggar, the advisor to the minister on parliamentary affairs says that the event is significant in view of the growing interest in economic legislations on the government’s agenda in an effort to accelerate economic reform.  The People’s Assembly and the Shura Council have been more than ever involved in financial and economic legislation.  The workshop may be a precursor to a review of economic legislations in Egypt throughout several stages including an evaluation of parliamentary  technical support.
