Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali ,Minister of Finance, said that the Egyptian economy succeeded in maintaining high growth rates despite the financial crisis in the world economy, where the Egyptian economy achieved a growth rate of more than 7% for the second year, which is considered the highest rates of economic growth in the Euro- Med region.

He called the international community to develop new mechanisms and development of control over the global markets and make them more dynamic to deal with the nature of financial markets and its instruments which fit with the nature of financial crises and its rapid development.
He pointed out that the current global financial crisis was further complicated with the passage of time since evolved into a crisis of confidence among traders in the market which makes it more difficult and delayed the results of efforts to resolve them.
On the other hand, the prime ministers of the Euro-Mediterranean countries praised to the economic performance of the southern Mediterranean countries, including Egypt, which amounted to growth rates of the local economy has about 5% on average last year while increasing its ability to reduce unemployment and attract foreign direct investment and reduce the budget deficit and debt ,In light of the structural reforms adopted over the past years, increasing their capacity to withstand the world shocks.
