Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali has issued directives to raise due pensions up till June 30th, 2006 by 7.5% of the pension value.
The directive called for an immediate increase on pensions from July 2006 at a minimum of 10 pounds and a maximum of LE 60 to be distributed without cuts among beneficiaries in cases of death of pensioner.
The raise will also affect social security businesses and Egyptians abroad who are under the umbrella of the social security law in Egypt while allowing the hike in situations where pensions, raises and support are all simultaneously paid.
The directive states that the raise is applicable in cases where the pensioner is receiving more than one pension on the due date for the raise without limits even if the pension exceeds LE 100.
