Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali has issued new regulations for tax deputies to allow the taxpayer or his legal representative to review the audited tax report and to submit his comments in efforts to develop mutual confidence between the authority and the taxpayer and reduce emerging conflicts.  The final version of the audited report will entail an approval from both parties.  In cases where the two parties do not agree, then both parties will sign on the points of agreement while the authority will have to go through the file another time.

The Minister of Finance has issued a booklet to be distributed among all tax officials that calls on tax departments not to demand taxpayers to pay any extra amounts.  The Ministry has been aware that some tax departments have demanded extra payments from taxpayers exceeding the tax value.
