Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali, Minister of Finance assured that the government started to take the necessary measures to face the effects of the global financial crisis and The Ministry of Finance began sending letters to the ministry of Transportation to allocate 2.5 billion pounds to expand the establishment of new roads and development of ports that serve the development process.

Also letters have been sent to the ministry of Housing to allocate one billion pounds to expand in the establishment of water stations and sanitation. In addition to the allocation of one billion pounds for the Ministry of Trade and Industry to boost exports and the establishment of industrial and commercial areas in all governorates as part of the $ 15 billion pounds would be pumped in the state budget to face the effects of global crisis.

Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali declared that construction contracts will be signed in the next two months to build 350 new schools in all the governorates with the private sector in partnership with the public sector, the private sector will build these schools and will be rented by the government for 15 years. Also establishment contracts will be signed for two sanitation and two hospitals. The minister pointed out that these projects will cost between 10 to 12 billion pounds, 4.5 billion pounds of this cost will be paid immediately to be complete the building of new schools in 18 months.

He pointed out that all these funds that will be pumped in the market aim to provide the necessary liquidity to Energize market and to overcome the expected shortage in the exports and the foreign direct investment volume resulting from the global financial crisis.

He explained that the additional funds that will be added to the general budget will need to amend the budget and that will be returned to the People's Assembly for approval.

The minister said that the government has pumped through the past years additional 30 billion pounds through the program of the economic reform which led to increase the growth rate to 2.7% and the protection of the Egyptian economy from the repercussions of the global financial crisis.
