End of April 2007 marks the final date for the submission of tax returns. A flurry of activity has been witnessed within tax districts as tax employees beefed up to meet the growing number of taxpayers who flocked around the clock to meet the deadline. Tax districts have continued to receive tax returns until 9:00pm while streamlining the work process in an effort to conclude the tax season with minimal confrontation. Taxpayers are looking to benefit from tax cuts while eager to avoid the tough penalties including fines between 2000-10,000 pounds and may be intensified to 100,000 pounds and a prison sentence where tax evasion is the case.
