Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, expressed his great pride in the distinguished human talents and commemorative editions documenting Egypt’s history at the Treasury and Mint Authority, noting that he closely followed the various stages of producing circulating and commemorative coins, as well as medals, decorations, and orders, which reflect the deep-rooted legacy of Egyptian industry and its national and historical role.
The remarks came during the minister’s first field visit to the Treasury and Mint Authority, which included tours of the factory and the museum.
During the visit, Kouchouk praised the workers and technicians, affirming that they embody an honorable image of Egyptian industry and safeguard the country’s national identity, saying: “A salute of appreciation to every Egyptian worker contributing to the nation’s development journey and helping shape our present and future.”
The plan aims to upgrade production systems, strengthen manufacturing and technological capabilities, and support the expansion of innovative commemorative coin production to become more competitive in both domestic and international markets.
Kouchouk stressed the importance of creativity and diversity in presenting Egypt’s bright historical image and national symbols in modern ways that meet the aspirations of younger generations, emphasizing that transforming ideas into innovative, executable designs requires high levels of skill, precision, and professionalism.
Addressing the Authority’s employees, the minister said: “We want new creativity from you every day… every piece of work or design has its own unique character,” underscoring the importance of continuously developing commemorative products in a way that reinforces the Authority’s cultural role in preserving Egypt’s memory and promoting national awareness.
He added that the ministry is working within an integrated vision to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the sustainable supply of subsidiary metallic coins in quantities sufficient to meet market needs, thereby supporting smooth circulation and improving services provided to citizens.
The minister was accompanied during the tour by Ahmed Abdel Razek, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance; Sherif Hazem, Adviser to the Minister for Engineering Affairs; and Gamal Hussein, Head of the Treasury and Mint Authority.
