Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that the ministry’s top priority is to expand the tax base voluntarily by providing high-quality services to partners across the taxpayer community. He noted that the government aims to build on the “trust momentum” created by the first Tax Facilitation Package, introducing further incentives alongside technology-driven solutions that encourage compliance.
Chairing the meeting of the E-Tax Board of Directors, Kouchouk said the ministry is looking to establish premium customer service centers that represent a significant qualitative step in easing procedures and enhancing services across the tax ecosystem. He stressed that the ministry aims to attract new taxpayers through a tax system that is simpler, fairer, and better aligned with protecting the rights of all stakeholders.
The minister highlighted the importance of strong and impactful investment in artificial intelligence, through strategic partnerships between E-Tax and major specialized technology firms, to support and facilitate interactions with the tax community. He explained that the ministry is dedicated to reaching taxpayers through various channels while continuously improving registration mechanisms, technical support, and digital assistance.
Kouchouk emphasized that E-Tax is expected to play a bigger role in improving taxpayer satisfaction, supported by substantial investments aimed at enhancing tax services, including the launch of premium service centers. He added that the more success achieved in strengthening voluntary tax compliance, the greater the ministry’s ability to support economic activity and improve public services.
The minister also noted that several Arab and African countries have expressed interest in learning from Egypt’s experience in digitizing the tax system, reflecting its growing regional reputation.
During his visit to E-Tax headquarters, Kouchouk held an open dialogue with the company’s young professionals on developing the tax system and using technology more effectively to improve taxpayer satisfaction. He encouraged them: “Think about how to make everything easier for our taxpayer partners with practical solutions.”
Young E-Tax employees expressed pride in contributing to this transformative reform path, saying: “People’s perception of taxes is starting to change—and that motivates us to continue what we’ve started.”
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of E-Finance Group and Chairman of E-Tax, highlighted the minister’s role in building new bridges of trust with the business community through a fresh approach centered on tax facilitations. He noted that the group is highly motivated to advance the tax-reform agenda that supports voluntary compliance by improving service quality. “We are fully ready to implement every reform idea with more efficient and accessible technological solutions that attract new taxpayers,” he said.
Khaled Abdel Ghany, CEO of E-Tax, affirmed that the minister is presenting a modern model of public–private partnership through the Tax Facilitation Initiative, noting that the coming phase will see a strong and impactful shift that the taxpayer community will feel through improved service quality.
He explained that, in line with the minister’s directives, E-Tax will invest heavily in leveraging Egypt’s extensive tax-data repositories through artificial intelligence to benefit the business community. This will be achieved through strong partnerships with leading advisory and technical firms to develop a more efficient strategy that simplifies processes and enhances taxpayer support.
Abdel Ghany added that the Tax Authority is improving significantly, and that E-Tax is “working hand in hand to accelerate development projects that benefit taxpayers.” He noted that the premium customer service centers, which the minister instructed E-Tax to begin implementing, will mark the beginning of a new phase of partnership with the taxpayer community.
