“Our main concern is how to make things easier for taxpayers and citizens and improve the tax environment”
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk held an open dialogue with high-performing employees at the Tax Authority and Customs Authority who had completed the qualifying program at the National Training Academy, saying: “I am very pleased with the ideas I heard, which reflect a serious desire to improve tax and customs services.”
The minister added: “Our main concern is how to make things easier for taxpayers and citizens and improve the tax environment,” noting that the government is ready to implement any proposals that help promote voluntary compliance and attract new taxpayers.
Kouchouk emphasized that building a “partnership of trust” with the tax community is a top priority of fiscal policy, pointing out that the results of implementing packages of tax facilitation measures are encouraging the government to continue shifting toward a “customer service” culture.
He explained that tax revenues have increased over the past two years without imposing any additional burdens, while reducing the burdens and obligations on the government’s partners.
