Finance Ministry Launches "Creative Ideas" Competition as part of Citizen’s Budget for University Students
Sara Eid, Minister’s Adviser for Transparency and Community Participation: “Citizen’s Budget” an important tool for deepening community participation in the state’s priorities
The Egyptian Ministry of Finance launched the "Creative Ideas" competition as part of the Citizen’s Budget for the 2026/2027 fiscal year for university students, under the slogan “It is your right to know... it is your right to participate,” at Cairo University’s Faculty of Economics and Political Science.
The launch comes as part of efforts by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk to enhance community participation in the preparation and oversight of the state budget, particularly among young people and university students, and to encourage them to submit innovative ideas.
Sara Eid, the minister’s adviser for transparency and community participation, said the “Citizen’s Budget” is an important tool for deepening community participation in the state’s priorities, noting that the ministry aims to identify new ambassadors for the Finance Ministry among university students.
She said the ministry is working to encourage young people to submit innovative initiatives to develop ways of simplifying the budget, in order to build a generation that is more aware of the country’s priorities in projects and services and more engaged with fiscal policies.
