Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali, the Minister of Finance, is to meet Mr. George Osborne, Britain's new Chancellor of the Exchequer, in London for the first time since the latter took office in the new British government headed by Prime Minister David Cameron. Dr. Ghali is further expected to give a lecture on "Investment in Emerging and Developing Markets" at Chatham House, one of the leading economic think-tanks in England and Europe. The lecture will deal with the role of domestic capital markets in building emerging and developing economies, with particular reference to developing the treasury and bonds market in Egypt. Moreover, he will shed light on the important role of credit rating agencies in developing international bonds markets in general, and the Egyptian market in particular. As Chairman of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), Dr. Ghali will chair a panel discussion organized by University College, Oxford, on Friday on plans for developing the management and governance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with a view to serving the interests of developing countries. The event will be attended by leading academics specialized in globalization from various British universities, as well as Mr. Stephen Pickford the British Chancellor's G-20 personal representative.  (Source:British Embassy Cairo)
