Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali has reiterated the Ministry’s concern to encourage the use of state-of-the-art equipment in all departments in order to upgrade performance and streamline the work process.

The customs department for big business is currently introducing cutting edge technology to speed up the release of goods.  The adapted technology is included in the risk department followed by revision.  Updated customs centers has led to record reduction in release periods on goods from 24 days to hours.  E-payment has also been applied on customs tuitions and fees in a number of major outlets.  In six months e-payments will be generalized  in order to facilitate customs releases and encourage the investment climate.
