Kouchouk to Africa Summit in London After Winning “The Best Minister of Finance in Africa” Award: Egypt's Leadership, Potentials and Economy Will Remain a Vital Inlet and Outlet for African Countries to European and Asian Markets
We should deliver the same message that supports Africa at all global events to meet the requirements of development
Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that Egypt's leadership, potentials and economy will remain an important inlet and outlet for African countries to the European and Asian markets, clarifying that we should always deliver the same message that supports Africa at all global events to meet the requirements of development, taking into consideration that we are on the same side and we will draw up the future of Africa together through a vision which is more responsive to our common challenges and ambitions.
"We look forward to turning our great African potentials into promising investment opportunities that accelerate growth and development," said Kouchouk to Africa Summit 2025 in London, with participation of many African leaders in the economic and political fields, after winning the Best Minister of Finance in Africa award. "The global economy witnesses essential transformations that force us to rearrange the priorities of African continent," added Kouchouk.
Kouchouk pointed out that the African private sector should play a vital role to achieve economic and developmental integration, as well as to take the lead of economic activity, asserting that we will work in cooperation with our African partners to build up more competitive economies that can achieve sustainable development, as we should participate together in deep rooting the pillars of an attractive environment for investment in Africa.
"Egypt is a hub for manufacturing green hydrogen, securing energy and industrial products, and a regional hub for food security in Africa. The foreign investments started flowing to Egypt especially in the renewable energy, logistics and industry," said Kouchouk.
"We participated with business community in the formulation and implementation of economic reforms in Egypt, with the support of our international partners," affirmed Kouchouk. "The private sector is a top priority in the structural reforms in Egypt, as it has already acquired over 60% of the total investments in the first nine months of the last fiscal year," added Kouchouk.
Kouchouk stated that the Ministry of Finance takes serious steps to create an investment environment that encourages the active expansion in production, manufacturing and export, as we succeeded to improve the financial indices and implemented twenty tax reforms to build confidence with business community.
Kouchouk clarified that the priorities of the Egyptian Ministry of Finance include expanding tax base, increasing voluntary tax commitment, building confidence and certainty and ongoing deliberation with business community.
Kouchouk also affirmed that our policy is based on ensuring balance between supporting economic activity and achieving financial discipline, in a manner that contributes to achieving high and sustainable growth rates led by the private sector.
