Minister of Finance at “Food of Egypt” Conference — “Competitive Industry… A Sustainable Future”: 73% Increase in Private Investment Reflects Strong Confidence of Investor Partners and the Private Sector
Egypt’s Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk took part in the inauguration of the fourth annual conference of the Chamber of Food Industries, titled “Egypt’s Food,”.
“Over the last fiscal year, private investment recorded 73% growth, which is an important index of investors’ trust, as investors do not make compliments with their capitals,” Kouchouk said. “They pumped billions to invest in the future. The investment always targets future growth,” he added.
Kouchouk said the industrial sector achieved rapid growth, leading growth rates in Egypt, which he said confirmed that the country is on the right track.
“We succeeded in rolling out packages of tax facilitations in favor of the private sector,” Kouchouk said, adding that the government is preparing a second package of tax facilitations that will address compliant taxpayers in order to meet their needs.
He also announced that a joint conference will be held in the coming days in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to disclose 30 procedures adopted for domestic and foreign trade and customs.
“The new public budget will provide more support to industry and export sectors with ideas that link incentives to performance,” Kouchouk said. “We successfully achieved economic stability, and we will continue to attract more investment flows,” he added.
Kouchouk said the economic ministerial group and the government agencies were working as one team, sparing no effort to encourage productive sectors and private investment to achieve further growth and expansion.
The Minister was honoured and presented with the conference’s shield in recognition of his vital role in supporting the development of the food industries sector.
