Minister of Finance Holds Friendly Dialogue with Investors and Exporters During His Tour of “Food Africa” Exhibition
Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk conducted a field tour of the Food Africa Exhibition, where he engaged in a friendly and open dialogue with investors and exporters, expressing strong optimism about the success stories he witnessed in the agricultural produce and food industries sectors.
“I am extremely pleased with what I have seen of outstanding models of successful investment projects in the agricultural crops and food industries sector,” Kouchouk said during his tour.
He added that he has a genuine passion and interest in learning about the distinguished Egyptian experiences of investor partners operating in productive and export-oriented sectors.
The Minister highlighted that the transition of a number of importers into manufacturers, producers, and exporters is a clear indication of the private sector’s ability to evolve and drive economic growth.
He stressed the Ministry’s strong interest in developing the industrial sector and opening new export markets for Egyptian products.
Kouchouk emphasized the government’s readiness for extended dialogue with the business community, alongside swift action to stimulate production and exports. He also expressed enthusiasm for cooperating with young entrepreneurs, supporting them through all available means to help their businesses grow, expand, and reach international markets.
“We have solid initiatives in place to support productive and export sectors, and we are open to any ideas that enhance the competitiveness of our economy,” the Minister said.
Exhibitors, in turn, expressed their appreciation to the Minister, stating that they are fully capable of competing, expanding, and growing, and look forward to further support and incentives to strengthen their operations.
Dalia Kabil, CEO of Concept Company, underscored the vital role exhibitions play in promoting the development and quality of Egyptian products—particularly in the food industries and agricultural produce—aimed at opening new markets for Egyptian exports.
She noted that the Minister of Finance’s visit sends a clear message of support and encouragement from the government to manufacturers, producers, and exporters.
Kabil also pointed to the transformation of many importers into producers and exporters as evidence of the Egyptian economy’s growing competitiveness in production and export activities.
Tamer Safwat, General Manager of Concept Company, stated that Egypt is regaining its leading position on the global exhibitions map, affirming that agricultural crops—including citrus, vegetables, and fruits—as well as food products, possess strong competitive advantages across international markets.
He added that Egypt has also made significant progress in packaging and processing, an area that had previously posed challenges.
The Food Africa Exhibition is one of the largest specialized exhibitions in food industries and agricultural produce, featuring more than 1,200 Egyptian and international companies, including global firms operating within the Egyptian market. A substantial portion of the exhibited food products is exported to markets worldwide.
