-          Plan to renew and secure the work methods automation   at the Ministry in cooperation with the National Security Authority.

-          Engineering report on the fires confirmed that the towers are safe and foundations are not damaged.

-          Alternative centers to manage the governmental E-payment system to ensure its work continuation under any circumstances.

-          The Minister is keen on finding appropriate alternatives places for employees of the harmed sectors, as soon as possible.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ahmed Galal confirmed that  the Ministry towers repair operations, affected recently by fire and destruction  , will be completed in December 2013.

He said that an urgent plan has been prepared to distribute employees of  tower no. 2 , which is damaged mostly by the fire, to work in other towers until the repair and restoration operations will be completed, pointing out that such plan will be disclosed to the Ministry officials to participate in developing  plans and finding solutions for any obstacles. He called the Ministry employees for presenting suggestions and ideas concerning work method mechanisms development and the needed  electronic software and hardware or additional equipment, which were not  exist before, to make the Ministry of Finance a pioneer of modern ministries which cope with the global developments in the governmental management field which contributes in improving work environment and facilitate  providing public services for citizens.

He confirmed that the huge losses resulted from the fire, the repair process shall require more and considerable effort and high expense which make us reassure condemning any destroy  and  sabotage acts to the  Egyptian properties .He added that we are determined , despite the  difficulties, to overcome the obstacles and continue to work with high spirit, recognizing  that the Ministry's work relation with  all  ministries in Egypt.

All the above mentioned was during the Minister’s meeting with  heads of the central sectors of the Ministry, heads of the authorities affiliated to the Ministry of Finance and representatives of the Arab Contractors company, which is responsible for the restoration and repair operations, to discuss  the towers repair and rehabilitation plans to integrate work at the Ministry.

He indicated that the technological and engineering sectors in the Ministry are currently developing final repair plans, pointing out that cooperation with the National Security Authority, in order to repair the governmental electronic payment system management Centre at the Ministry of Finance’s headquarter.

He said that the centre is moved to alternative centers affiliated to e-finance company outside the Ministry’s  headquarter, and also customs operations  through the main alternative centre of customs authority in Alexandria, pointing out that he requested developing plans to establish more than electronic centre in order to fully secure the Ministry's operation, such centers will fully manage the governmental financial flows cycle after the completion of the electronic system.

He said that the Minister of Housing and the Minister of Communications provide all aids to support repair efforts of the Ministry's headquarter, pointing out that we coordinate with different ministries to provide equipment and appliances damaged by the fire.

Among the learned lessons, the Minister asked to develop a comprehensive plan to secure the entire Ministry, not only securing its buildings and equipment but also work methods in order to guarantee that the Ministry will not  stop performing its role in the management of national economy, under any circumstances.

The Minister declared that he received engineering report from the Arab Contractors experts on the structural situation of fire-affected towers, such report showed that the foundations, pillars and ceilings are not fire-affected but some of those need restorations and others need strengths, assuring that the buildings are completely safe. He indicated that the engineering sector at the Ministry declared that the central air conditioning corridors are the reason for fire spread in some floors besides smokes  has been extended to the entire buildings which damaged some devices and equipment. He said that all measures will be taken to secure all that  in the future, through few days the towers' external interface will be re-painted.

The Minister asked for establishing a tripartite committee from the engineering sector in the Ministry, one of the approved consulting firms and Arab contractors company responsible for towers repair to follow up the  procedures of offering  and awarding tenders of repair operations to ensure full transparency.

The Minister praised the innovative solutions which are suggested by the Ministry officials and employees to ensure work continuation, indicating that he is sure that everyone is keen on  work continuation and performance efficiency.

As for compensation procedures of the Ministry’s transport fleet damaged by the fire, he indicated that some buses and cars affiliated to the customs authority will be used to transfer employees to their work at the Ministry according to the applicable laws.
