Minister of Finance: Payment Complete for First Tranche of The Approved 50% in Cash for Exporters
601 exporting companies received EGP 368mn from their receivables
Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, affirmed that the first tranche of the approved 50% in cash for exporters has been paid completely through the new mechanism adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers for paying exporters' receivables from Export Development Fund, for the shipments until end of June 2024.
It is worth noting that 601 exporting companies received EGP 368mn, in addition to what was paid last August 12, 2025.
Kouchouk pointed out that the Ministry seeks to provide the liquidity required to activate exports and enhance their competitiveness in global markets.
"EGP 45bn has been allocated this fiscal year for the new program aimed at supporting exports and alleviating burdens in favor of investors.
This amount represents double the prior allocation, which contributes to alleviating the burdens of exports this year within three months only after completion of the required documents, as well as to implement the new mechanism approved by the Cabinet of Ministers to complete payment of receivables from Export Development Fund, to build on the achieved success in coordination with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade which started launching many initiatives to support exporters as of 2019, including the ad hoc cash payment initiative with its seven stages, from which about 3000 exporting companies benefited with about EGP 75bn.," said Kouchouk.
The Adviser to Minister of Finance for Economic Institutions Relations, Nevine Mansour, pointed out that the first tranche of this mechanism was dispensed through four banks, including "NBE, Banque Misr, Banque du Caire, and Export Development Bank of Egypt."
"In cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, and as part of our keenness to facilitate the process of dispensing exporters' receivables, the value of certificates issued for some exporting companies that do not have banking accounts at the aforementioned four banks, was transferred to their accounts at other banks with no administrative fees," said Nevine.
