  Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority said that merging the general and sales tax authorities is part of an effort to reform the tax department and create a new entity with high quality services and equal for all tax treatment. Mr. Mahmoud Mohamed Aly, speaking with senior officials at the tax department has said the authority will pay a great attention to complaints filed by taxpayers to streamline the work process and improve long strained relations between the payers and the authorities.
