News Date: 12/12/2010 12:00 AM  No Plan for Modifying Taxes on Trailer Trucks
Egyptian Finance Minister, Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali, said that no modifications were introduced to the income tax law concerning trucks and truck trailers.

In statements to the press, the minister denied the introduction of any alterations in the tax category for trailers, stressing that no duties were imposed retroactively. He dismissed all news on alterations as groundless; emphasising there was no plan to alter taxes on trailers.

The Head of the Tax Authority, Ahmed Refaat, in his turn confirmed the statement, adding that no modifications were introduced to Law 91 of 2005. Trailers pay taxes according to the already applicable guidelines. The Authority extends all facilities to trucks and trailers owners and no increases in transportation costs or tax burdens are experienced, he added.
