Taxpayers and legal accountants have continued to hammer down on tax districts with requests to end disputes and benefit from tax exemptions before June 9th. Regulations have already been simplified in accordance with directives issued by the Minister of Finance to conclude 360,000 outstanding cases filed for amounts of less than LE 10,000. General Manager of the Model Center for taxpayers Saeed Hindawy explained that the law has obliged taxpayers to pay a percentage of the due tax into the annual base to end outstanding disputes. Taxpayers are by law obliged to pay 10% of the tax on amounts up to 100,000 pounds. The law has also outlined a tax payment of 25% on amounts ranging from LE 100,000-LE 500,000; and 40% of the tax amount on amounts up half a million. (source: Al-Akhbar)
