  Head of the tax authority Mahmoud Mohamed Aly has reiterated that the sales tax authority has succeeded in implementing a number of updated systems in monitoring within the tax community to combat tax evasion.  He added that sales tax evasion hardly reaches 1% saying that the nature of the tax facilitates the discovery of any attempt to evade.  Mr. Aly has also noted that the departments which are concerned with helping the growing number of registered taxpayers has helped increase voluntary payment and monitoring any attempt to bail out from the tax community.
