Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali reiterated the government’s commitment in the upcoming budget for the fiscal year 2006/2007 to stabilize the prices of basic commodities in the interest of the limited income brackets with emphasis on subsidized bread for the value of 3.6 billion pounds followed by food oil. Dr. Ghali said that new government regulations will not approve the purchase of four cylinder luxury cars, Jeep or station wagons for government officials unless approved by the Minister of Planning and by the Prime Minister for cars with greater options.
