  Vice Minister of Finance for Treasury Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Maait: Study results of the new comprehensive health insurance system shall be announced this month (March). Ministers of Finance, along with Health & Population approve on the parameters required for the preparation of the actuarial model to implement the new comprehensive health insurance system. A workshop is scheduled to be held next Sunday, 12th of March, with donor authorities to discuss the draft of the new health care law and to share other countries' experiences in this respect.   Minister of Finance, Mr. Amr Al-Gharhy, held a meeting with a delegation from AON Hewitt, house of experience in charge of carrying out the actuarial study to set the financial solvency pertained to the new health insurance draft law. AON Hewitt in agreement with the ministers of Finance and of Health & Population approved conclusively on the assumptions and parameters of the new health insurance system’s actuarial model, whereupon the costs and the financial resources required for the system sustainability shall be assessed. The Cabinet is currently discussing the draft law of the new health insurance system after being prepared together by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Health and Population.  Within the next few coming months, the draft law will be referred to the Parliament. The French Development Agency (AFD) organizes in collaboration with the Economic Justice Unit at the Ministry of Finance a workshop next Sunday, March the 12th, titled "The Three Keys: strategies of implementing a comprehensive social health insurance system in Egypt". In activation of the French-Egyptian joint cooperation protocol, an Egyptian national delegation paid a field visit to Paris last October to get acknowledged with and to benefit from the French long experience in social and health insurance systems.
