The customs authority has defined the documents required for the release of used cars by residents abroad. The documents require the original car license or a traffic certificate that defines the owner of the car provided the resident abroad is proven to be living abroad for a period in excess of nine months. Cars for the disadvantaged are excepted from the remarks. The conditions have allowed the temporary release on cars during the same year to be able to enjoy the discounts on used cars during the duration of the year. Suspension of taxes will entail that the owners are spending over six months outside their country of residence in which case they will have to pay a sum of money to suspend tax payments. The amounts vary from 1000 pounds to 100 pounds depending on the duration of the car outside its resident country. (source: Al-Gomhuriya)
