Head of the customs authority Galal Abul Fetouh said the customs department will embark on solving discrepancies in the data reflecting the volume of Egypt’s foreign trade. The data will register documents issued by the two leading institutions which are the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Central Bank and the Central Auditing Organization. The authority has completed the unification of foreign trade data by registering items imported and exported through the custom outlets by reviewing the auditing sample used by both exporters and importers. The sample has proved impressively adequate in furbishing detailed information on the type of goods. Decision makers will be able to exploit the information for more effective contribution to Egypt’s economy. (Source: El-Messaa)
