Head of the Tax Authority announced that for both the general and sales taxes departments to succeed as a single entity  radical measures must be introduced to  modernize the whole tax system. Mahmoud Mohamed Aly added that the new Authority will project a new image otherwise unfamiliar until a comprehensive system is applicable and which applies unified laws including the implementation of the value added tax. In a meeting with board members of the Tax Federation,  Mr. Aly said that the new policy of the tax authority is to project the image of the entity as a service not as a taxation idea while taking into account the social aspect and encouraging mutual trust among taxpayers and the tax system. Mr. Aly said that employees will be trained on how to deal with taxpayers in accordance with the new system that entails a more civilized approach that demands dealing with the  taxpayers as equal partners.  (source: Al-Wafd)
