The Ministry of Finance has allocated 218 million pounds to pay up debts of Cairo governorate, Giza, Alexandria to local and international cleaning companies.  The announcement was made by Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali during a meeting with the governors of Cairo, Giza and a number of company heads in efforts to streamline the cleaning operations on a regular basis.

Ghali said that 130 million pounds have been allocated to the cleaning companies in Cairo, 28 million pounds to Giza, 60 million pounds to Alexandria.  Ghali noted that a memo has already been directed to the Prime Minister who issued his immediate response for a clean up solution to a situation that has been irking the public over a period.   Cairo governor has for his part reiterated that the intervention of the Ministry of Finance has helped wrap up the cleaning of the city with an immediate solution, affirming that the governorates of Cairo, Giza and Alexandria consider cleanliness of the essence.

Cairo Governor Abdel Azim al Wazeer explained that the collection of cleansing fees and electricity bills will be divided along three brackets in geographical order to include three pounds in the first tier, five pounds in the second group and eight  pounds in the third bracket.  Collecting garbage will take place along three stages beginning with the collection of waste from boarding areas, cleaning streets, bridges, subways and utilities and third, disposing of waste through sanitary means.  The governor noted that paying dues on cleaning will activate the cleaning process while postponed payments on cleaning companies have been a primary cause for the mayhem in the collection of garbage.
