Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali will approve the overhaul of the customs authority in a matter of days.  The plan is to divide the authority into geographic  and independent zones to streamline decision making and achieve higher performance to better serve the interests of importers. Head of the customs authority Galal Abul Fotouh has announced that efforts are underway to develop the legal structure in the wake of amendments to the customs law. (source: Al-Gomhuriya)
