Enhancing economic integration and facilitating intra-Arab trade by unifying customs procedures and exchanging expertise and information among Arab countries

Head of Customs Authority, Ahmed Amawi affirmed that we look forward to drawing up an Arab interregional strategy for customs and administrative cooperation, for the purpose of enhancing economic integration and facilitating intra-Arab trade by unifying customs procedures and exchanging expertise and information among Arab countries, within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone.

"We target maximizing the efforts of cooperation and coordination among Arab countries to develop customs system by developing technical skills and unifying the legislations, laws, regulations and terms related to customs system," said Amawi, after the extraordinary meeting of the general managers of customs of Arab countries in Cairo, which was held to look into starting the Aab council for customs affairs.

Amawi asserted the importance of finding more practical and flexible methods to encounter any customs challenges, in order to support and facilitate trade exchange, which will contribute to providing integrated and stimulus customs services to create a competitive economic climate in the region.
