Minister of Finance Dr. Ghali has issued directives to facilitate quick passage through outlets to passengers arriving from Lebanon, giving temporary release to their cars with renewable permits on a monthly basis.  The Minister has also given directives to delay the collection of taxes for two months provided car owners present a written document promising to drive the car back, deliver it to customs or pay its dues.  An agreement is underway with the Ministry of Industry to allow cars arriving from Lebanon to enter the country oblivious of the car model and  in line with earlier  Gulf war facilities as customs rules usually insist on certain production years.
