Discuss the development of the oversight role for the Fund and increase its resources and its ability to predict the global crisis

Saturday is headed by Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali, Minister of Finance Chairman of the Finance Committee and the International Monetary Fund International Monetary ministerial meetings of the Committee, which held in the U.S. capital Washington, in the presence of 24 Minister of Finance representing the total number of Member States in the International Monetary Fund Of the 185 countries.

Dr. Ghali was held during the past few days several meetings with finance ministers and some members of the Commission and senior officials of the IMF to consult on the most important issues to be discussed during the meeting, which will develop the regulatory capacity of the Fund through two point the first is to expand the scope of this regulations, second development supervision and oversight role and methods of work, especially with regard to the impartiality of the Fund and its ability to anticipate global crises.

And also to increase the resources available to the Fund through the temporary resources, such as borrowing and sustainable resources, such as increasing the capital fund.

The minister added that the meeting will also put a program of work of the IMF during the next phase until the next meeting of the Committee in Istanbul, Turkey, during the month of October.

Mr. Hani Kadry, assistant minister of finance said that preliminary meetings had discussed two points the first is the major developments in the global economy and global financial markets and expectations of the international financial institutions, in which part of the assessment of the policies adopted by the States to address the effects of global crisis, as well as the vision of the Member States about the additional policies needed to curb the effects of this crisis and emerge them.
