Egypt’s Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, affirmed that the government will continue advancing tax system reforms in the upcoming fiscal year, focusing on simplification, facilitation, and reducing obligations and burdens on taxpayers, in parallel with the implementation of the new budget.
He noted that integrated packages of real estate, tax, and customs facilitation measures are being rolled out to ease procedures for citizens and investors.
Speaking at a press conference, Kouchouk said: “Thank you to the business community for its confidence and strong, swift response to the first package of tax facilitation measures… together, we will succeed in the second package,” underscoring the growing partnership between the government and the private sector.
Kouchouk added that the government aims to bring 100,000 new taxpayers into the simplified and integrated tax system through unprecedented incentives and facilitation measures.
Kouchouk further highlighted plans to significantly upgrade tax services through the establishment of three flagship tax service centers, aimed at delivering high-quality services and improving the overall taxpayer experience.
He also announced the launch of a “Tax Excellence Card” for compliant taxpayers, which will grant access to additional services and benefits, emphasizing that recognizing and rewarding compliant taxpayers is essential to strengthening voluntary compliance and building trust in the tax system.
