Finance Minister: Egypt’s Economy Is Regaining Investor Confidence as the Government Presses Ahead with Investment Reforms and Private Sector Empowerment
Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that the Egyptian economy is regaining investor confidence, supported by strong and balanced economic performance despite ongoing global and regional challenges.
Kouchouk emphasized that the government remains committed to improving the investment climate, easing the business environment, and strengthening the private sector's role as a key driver of economic growth.
The remarks came during the Minister's meeting with a delegation from Lazard Sovereign Advisory on the sidelines of the Paris Forum, where discussions focused on the government's ongoing efforts to foster a more competitive investment environment and attract greater private investment.
Kouchouk said the government is continuing to implement its tax and customs facilitation packages to simplify procedures, enhance the business climate, and deliver better services to investors.
These measures, he noted, are aimed at expanding private sector participation in the economy, stimulating economic activity, and creating more employment opportunities.
The Minister added that the government remains committed to providing financing facilities to support production, while extending economic support to merchandise and services exports as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Egypt's competitiveness in regional and global markets.
He also highlighted that the manufacturing, tourism, telecommunications, and information technology sectors have recorded their strongest performance in six years, reflecting the resilience of the Egyptian economy and the sustained momentum of key productive sectors.
