Finance Minister: Tax Revenues Up 29% Without New Burdens as Egypt Expands Tax, Customs, and Real Estate Incentives

Kouchouk said tax revenues increased by 29% during the period from July to March of the current fiscal year, without imposing any additional burdens on taxpayers

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk expressed his appreciation to the business community, stressing that Egypt is now reaping the benefits of its tax incentives and facilitation agenda, which has been implemented in close partnership with the private sector to support economic growth.

He attributed this growth to stronger economic activity, an expanded tax base, and ongoing efforts to simplify procedures and modernize the tax system.

The minister noted that fiscal year 2026/2027 will witness the implementation of new packages of tax, customs, and real estate facilitation measures aimed at reducing obligations and compliance burdens for both citizens and investors.

He added that the second package of tax reforms represents a further step toward embedding a customer-service culture within the tax administration.

Kouchouk explained that the government is currently implementing 40 tax and customs measures designed to facilitate business operations, support investors’ expansion plans, and foster economic growth.

He emphasized that efforts are also underway to reduce customs clearance times, stimulate trade flows, and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.

The minister further announced plans to launch a mobile application for real estate tax services, alongside another application dedicated to real estate transactions, as part of broader efforts to improve service delivery and accelerate digital transformation.

He also revealed that new distinguished tax service centers will be inaugurated and existing ones expanded in the coming days, providing taxpayers with more efficient and streamlined services while advancing the ministry’s digital transformation strategy.

Kouchouk reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of economic activities and supporting productive and export-oriented sectors, which remain key drivers of sustainable economic growth and job creation.
