Head of the customs authority Galal Abul Fetouh has reiterated that the authority has opted to increase observation on vehicles for the disadvantaged as it has been noted that some of the vehicles have been used for wayward purposes. He noted that licenses for vehicles for the disadvantaged must meet with certain conditions including specific medical furnishings and a letter from the medical department. Conditions stipulate that such vehicles cannot be conceded to others only after five years in use. Mr. Abul Fetouh noted that an agreement has been made in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior to place a specific mark on license plates for cars of disadvantaged individuals. Foreign students’ cars’ licenses have been revoked. Tourist cars are given a six month grace period after which high fines are set. Abul Fetouh said that electronic links will be completed in 2008 through an international bid and a date line. (source :Al-gomhoria)
