A number of leading financial experts have commended in their reports the positive reforms that have been adopted by the economic group to increase economic growth. Merril Lynch has pointed to the soaring growth rates in the current fiscal year in view of sound economic policies that has led to an increase in cash flows particularly from Gulf countries. The financial report issued by Merrill Lynch is expecting continued growth, supported by increased investments, government spending and consumer spending. The report has pointed to the current account surplus of 2.5% of GDP and direct foreign investments expected to reach 7% of GDP this year. As for foreign reserves at the Central Bank, the report has announced a 23 billion dollar reserve representing 11 months of inputs, a fact which supports the pound as opposed to other foreign currencies.
