Cairo – October 2025
Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, announced the continuation of the initiative to support productive industrial, agricultural, and renewable energy activities. The initiative aims to stimulate the private sector to expand investment, local production, and growth by providing EGP 90 billion in financing facilities for these sectors at an interest rate not exceeding 15% during the current fiscal year — EGP 80 billion allocated for working capital and EGP 10 billion for the purchase of machinery and equipment.

According to a joint statement issued by the Ministries of Industry and Finance, the government is committed to enhancing the productive capacities of factories, strengthening the industrial sector’s contribution to the national economy, increasing employment rates, and creating new job opportunities for young people.

The statement added that the state treasury will bear EGP 8 billion this year as the interest rate differential under the initiative to support industrial, agricultural, and renewable energy activities. The value has been maintained without the previously planned 20% reduction, a move designed to ease financing costs for investors, manufacturers, and farmers; boost local production; and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in international markets.

The joint statement also emphasized that the Ministry of Finance continues to work on alleviating burdens on investors and advancing the partnership path with the private sector to encourage increased private investment in the Egyptian economy. It further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening economic activity and maintaining high and sustainable growth rates driven by the private sector through greater production and exports in a stimulating and competitive business environment.
