Sunday, June 11th marks the final day set by the Tax Authority to accept requests to end disputes over taxes.  The tax authority has encouraged taxpayers with special exemptions in case they submit requests to end disputes outside of court.  The exemptions have been applicable for a full year ending Sunday, June 11th.  Taxpayers who have failed to submit applications will be considered tax evaders and will be answerable.  Sample testing will be the order of the day.  The comments were made by the Head of the Tax Authority Mahmoud Mohamed Aly urging taxpayers to submit their files before the close of business on Sunday. Saad Hindawy who heads the model tax center for taxpayers in the top tier bracket said that requests to end disputes ending Sunday will be forwarded to the special committees in charge of sifting through disputes.  The new tax law has determined the payment of 10% of amounts up to 100 thousand pounds and 25% on amounts up to half a million pounds, 40% on amounts above half a million to allow for the final closure of pending files.
