Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk: At a Press Conference — We Are Working to Ease the Burden on Citizens and Investors Within a Comprehensive Vision for Growth and Development
We achieved solid fiscal results last year — for the benefit of “the people and the economy” — through strong partnership with the private sector.
Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that the Ministry is working to ease burdens on both citizens and investors within a comprehensive vision for growth and development. He noted that strong fiscal results were achieved in FY 2024/2025, serving the interests of “the people and the economy,” thanks to robust collaboration with the private sector.
During a press conference to review fiscal performance for 2024/2025, the Minister explained that economic, fiscal, and investment indicators have shown significant improvement, which allowed the government to channel additional resources into essential public services that matter most to citizens.
He emphasized that expenditure was not constrained; instead, spending on health, education, social protection programs, and other vital sectors was increased for the benefit of citizens.
The Minister underlined that the Ministry plays a pivotal role in driving economic activity, industrial and export-oriented projects, and in encouraging private sector growth through more targeted initiatives. He stressed that the Ministry has facilitated procedures for business partners and eased their tax burdens. “With their trust and responsiveness, our revenues have doubled — without imposing any new taxes,” Kouchouk concluded.
