“The Grand Egyptian Museum” — An Exceptional Model for Promoting Tourism, Investment, and Egypt’s Global Economic Presence

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is writing a new chapter in history with the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum — the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. He described it as an exceptional model for promoting Egypt’s tourism, investment, and economic potential on the global stage.

 

Kouchouk stated that this civilizational project marks a transformative leap for Egypt on the world tourism map, showcasing the diversity and magnificence of its ancient artifacts through state-of-the-art display methods. He emphasized that Egypt is turning its rich cultural heritage into economic opportunities and resources that support national growth.

 

He added that the Grand Egyptian Museum represents a significant milestone in reinforcing Egypt’s diverse and robust investment climate, enhancing the country’s ability to attract more foreign direct investment. The project, he noted, serves as an inspiring example of successful public-private partnership, reflecting Egypt’s commitment to diversified projects that generate sustainable economic returns.

 

The Minister highlighted that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum will provide powerful momentum for Egypt’s economic diversification and tourism competitiveness, reinforcing the country’s global appeal. “We will continue working with full dedication and coordination across all sectors to unlock the enormous potential of Egypt’s economy — and the best is yet to come,” Kouchouk said.

 

He also announced that commemorative coins made of gold and silver will be released next week at the museum’s headquarters, adding that the ministry is prepared to issue a series of exclusive coins upon request for collectors. Orders will be received electronically, and production will be completed within days at the Treasury and Mint Authority.
