Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali has said that the new budget for the fiscal year 2007/2008 will focus on controlling and rationing  public expenditure.

Ghali said that rationing expenditure aims at directing goods subsidies to the rightful beneficiaries on a low income.

Ghali said his interest will simultaneously focus on infra structural reforms.
Ghali noted that the new fiscal year will witness restructuring of services and subsidies to expand beneficiaries under the umbrella of the Ministry of Social Security.

Ghali noted that 50 state economic authorities have not achieved the target balances and are suffering huge deficits.

Ghali said that a number of training sessions will be organized in governorates to serve citizens in remote areas.

Ghali said that in view of the huge gap between the requested budgets and the resources in remote governorates, it will be necessary to redistribute state resources to flow into the local communities.
