Minted new coins this month have soared to a record six million pounds.  Head of the treasury and the minting authority Dr. Mostafa Ahmed Mohamed has explained that the circulated coins have reached until last week 3.5 million pounds for the one pound category and 205 million pounds for the fifty coin category.  Dr. Mostafa has however admitted that there is a low circulation of new coins.
