Head of the tax authority Mahmoud Mohamed Aly has issued directives to determine procedures for the return of excess amounts of due tax as a result of mathematical errors.  Mr. Aly explained that there may be errors in cases where  the tax has been calculated  on leased real estate on a whole year calculated on tax returns for the year 2005.  The Head of the Tax Authority explained that the auditing department will undertake the calculation of tax on 2005 from June 10th 2005 instead of January 2005.  Taxpayers will be notified as to whether they wish to have the difference back or to be deducted from his due tax amounts in successive years.  (source: Al-Ahram)
