Head of the Tax Authority Mahmoud Mohamed Aly has issued directives banning the turning in of tax officials to the district attorney without personal authorization from the Tax Authority Chief and a report signaling out the official for wrong doing, handed by the superior. Mr. Aly has also announced the promotion of 560 managers and the amendment of the bonus system into an open system that links bonus to performance. The statements have been made in a meeting with employees in Port Said. Mr. Aly has added that the merging of the tax and sales authorities is part of a three year plan to complete the training among employees towards better performance when the merge of the tax departments is complete.
