Sunday marks the last day in a  two month grace period in which to prepare  tax returns.  Meanwhile,  taxpayers have continued to file  into tax districts.  Districts have been instructed to continue to receive tax returns. Tax Authority chief Mahmoud Mohamed Aly said tax districts have begun auditing  tax returns for excess amounts while memos are being sent  to respective districts with instructions  to prepare checks with due amounts to taxpayers without intervention into submitted returns.  Dr. Mohamed Serrour at the tax authority head office remarked that most surplus amounts have been registered in Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said and Sharkiya.
