Minister of Finance Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali has called for the modernization of tax offices on real estate throughout the country in preparation for the implementation of the new real estate tax law after review at the People’s Assembly and the Shura Council. The process is expected to take place in stages to include a number of offices in the governorates.  The idea is to allocate a central office in each region to supervise a number of offices distributed in accordance with the geographic distribution. The new plan includes the insertion of an information network that includes all real estate and existing buildings bearing that the current law applies to buildings that go back to l981 and does not apply to the new cities.
